ARCHIVE GUIDELINES

The Guidelines to Archives in New Brunswick is an essential bilingual resource for archival institutions, organizations, and individuals engaged in preserving the province’s documentary heritage. Developed by the Council of Archives New Brunswick (CANB), this guide outlines best practices for archival management, including acquisition, arrangement, description, preservation, access, awareness, advocacy, and governance. Whether you are establishing a new archive or refining existing policies, these guidelines provide practical direction to help ensure the long-term protection and accessibility of New Brunswick’s historical records.

CANB GAZETTE

The CANB Gazette is a long form, written, newsletter published quarterly by the Council of Archives New Brunswick. It is inspired by the publication of the same name, published by CANB between 1989 -1993. The purpose of its revival in 2025 is to increase communication from the Executive Committee to the CANB membership, strengthen relationships between archival institutions, and celebrate archival work being done in the Province of New Brunswick.
